APIC is looking for an experienced, hands on Editorial and Publishing Manager for its print and digital book publishing program. Responsibilities include:
interacting with authors who write APIC’s books about infection prevention and control
managing peer reviews
editing, copyediting, and proofreading
preparing manuscripts for production
overseeing production and fulfillment vendors
updating and maintaining the APIC Text Online (ATO), APIC’s flagship publication
working with editorial panels and
merchandising books and other APIC products at live association events
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, or journalism plus:
3-5 years of publishing experience
excellent project management skills
association or nonprofit experience
knowledge of the healthcare field
experience with peer review in publishing
excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
knowledge of digital and print publishing processes
experience with content management systems
fluency in the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro
willingness and ability to travel approximately 15% of the time and
the ability to work as part of a team.
