The Optical Society seeks an Exhibit Operations Director to manage the successful execution of all exhibits-related logistical aspects of OSA’s meeting portfolio.
Duties include oversight of logistical activities relating to planning and executing an exhibit, including but not limited to focus on customer service, budget creation, show services invoice payments, floor plan creation, vendor/independent contractor selection and oversight, site visits, venue selection recommendation, contract review, sponsorship fulfillment, strategic analysis of products impacting exhibitor and attendee experience, engagement with key internal and external stakeholders and supervision of Exhibits Team support staff.
Position requires Bachelor’s degree; and CMP or CEM preferred. Candidate must have 7-10 years exhibit and meeting planning experience; proficiency with MS Office applications; knowledge of Association Management Software (Access, ACT, ExpoCAD); knowledge of Registration and Membership Management Systems such as IMiS, Avectra, Cvent; and ability to quickly master new applications. Position requires a strong professional image, solid organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to successfully manage multiple simultaneous projects, strong writing and proof-reading abilities and exceptional attention to detail.
Candidates must be willing and able to travel frequently for 2-10 day trips and work extended hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
