Responsible for overseeing the planning, development, stewardship, and execution of association’s sponsorships, partnerships and endorsed services. Ensures the association’s business development initiatives have impact and sustainability.
Description of Responsibilities:
Responsible for driving the association to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow sponsorship, partner goals, and objectives.
Develop, sell and deliver innovative sponsorship programs that enrich TSAE’s relationship with its sponsors, affiliate members and all stakeholders.
Identify and solicit targeted markets and potential clients.
Design, distribute and negotiate sponsorship sales packages and endorsed services providers.
Oversee event sponsorships, annual partnerships sales, and endorsed services to include: emailing/mailing invoices, database entries, letters, collecting funds and artwork, sending marketing kits/promotions, direct/online marketing campaigns.
In concert with appropriate councils and Education Director, develops and executes assigned meetings, events and initiatives.
Serves as staff liaison to the assigned TSAE Councils/Task Forces.
Assists with preparing business development budgets and operates within the annual budget for associated programs and activities.
Collaborate with TSAE Staff to develop budget goals and projections for revenue. Responsible for meeting annual revenue budget goals.
In concert with the Executive Director, prepares, manages and operate the business development budget items. To include managing budget books, general ledgers, forecast projections, trade outs and maintaining departmental statistics.
Keeps Executive Director updated of any variations concerning income or expenses with business development; works with the accounting team to ensure integrity of financial data. Assists with specialized reporting as needed.
Assists with the development of a written marketing plan/timeline for assigned meetings and sponsorships, based on budget and instruction from Executive Director.
Researches and recommends sites for assigned meetings in conjunction with the Education Director and Executive Director.
Coordinates sponsorship/annual partner survey activities, which encompass survey development and distribution, compiling and analyzing response data, and disseminating the information to the appropriate parties, i.e. staff, committees, and TSAE Leadership. Makes recommendations based on survey results.

Collaborate with TSAE staff to identify and devise innovative educational programs and events that provide opportunities for sponsor engagement and revenue generation.
Work with Communications Director on dissemination of sponsorship promotional marketing.
Manage fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables during the pre-event planning phase and on-site for all events, programs and initiatives.
Coordinate with Education Director on all sponsorship logistics, including sponsor activations and deliverables. Ensure that sponsorship/partners/endorsed business requirements are included in RFPs.
Communicate with all sponsors on logistical needs, execution plan for sponsor deliverables at on-site events and throughout the budget year.
Work with Communications Director on fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables related to TSAE website, TSAE correspondence, print materials, on-site audio visual and speaking opportunities.
Coordinate with Membership Coordinator and accounting team on all complimentary memberships and registrations associated with sponsorship deliverables.
Serve as point person for all sponsor related matters.
Collaborate with Membership Coordinator to identify sponsor prospects, affiliate member prospects. Coordinate joint stewardship activities.
Evaluate sponsorships annually to determine impact and sustainability. Review sponsor satisfaction, pricing, value proposition, cost effectiveness and member benefits. Create sponsor audits.
Assists in floor plan designs of the association’s events by collecting the information about sponsor needs and deliverables.
Coordinates dissemination of attendee pre-show and post-show lists to sponsors/partners. Fulfills sponsors’ requests for pre-show and post-show attendee lists.
Assists the Communications Director with the collection of sponsor/partner profiles and products and provides data to Communications Director for inclusion in association materials. Coordinates new sponsor/partner information for addendum to website/apps.
Develops written marketing plan for business development services recruitment, retention, and benefits to continually improve the sponsor/partner/endorsed services experience and services by developing target markets based on an understanding of market research data both statewide and nationally.
As assigned, may attend and perform pre-determined responsibilities at meetings.
Occasionally conducts research and carries out special projects under the direction of the Executive Director, etc.
Remains fully knowledgeable of all educational programs and membership benefits to assist with general inquiries.
Provides phone support and routine customer service for general inquiries as needed.

Internal: Works closely with all staff to fulfill position responsibilities.
External: Works closely TSAE sponsors, annual partners, endorsed service providers, and service contractors. Works with allied organizations.
Education: Should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or a minimum of five (5) years association management experience.
Skill requirements: Effective oral and written communication skills, including public speaking; experience with computers and word processing software; ability to work effectively with members and staff; ability to maintain confidentiality and have a service oriented attitude. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously; use critical thinking and implement problem-solving skills to effectively develop and organize projects. Must have an understanding of market research, statistics, and knowledge of the industry. Individual must be able to lift boxes up to forty (40) pounds.
Relevant Experience: iMIS and association experience is preferred. Previous customer or member service experience preferred. Industry designation preferred but not required (CAE, CEM, CMP).
Travel: At short notice, successful candidate will also be available for evening and weekend work and may travel up to 20% of the time.
This position does qualify for TSAE telecommuting program one (1) day a week after initial 60 days.
