The Senior Manager of Training and Business Development is responsible for generating training leads, fostering client relationships, closing business opportunities and sustaining business success. This includes utilizing project management principles to develop, plan, organize, refine, and deploy various training options for use in various environments for airport industry professionals.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Manages and reports on marketing, sales and operational training functions for AAAE’s customized classroom sessions, web-based training programs and other training platforms as directed;
Creates, plans, develops and implements new training course ideas for delivery in multiple platforms as directed,
Provides program management expertise and support for one or more training certification programs;
Provides data, information and briefings to AAAE leadership on continuous or as needed basis in support of various financial and administrative reporting duties;
Moderates and facilitates several meetings, conferences or workshop per year;
Solicits and negotiates sponsorship opportunities with host airports/entities;
Plans, organizes, and implements logistical support for all certification and non-certification training courses and platforms;
Develops, plans, and implements sales campaigns as needed or directed;
Provides content support for timely distribution of AAAE’s Training Newsletter;
Addresses inquiries and requests concerning Department products and services;
Manages and reports on profitability for each line of business as assigned;
Provides and maintains excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders and customers;
Provides marketing and customer service support for other AAAE products and services;
Provides customer support to AAAE’s volunteer leadership boards and committees; and
Performs other related duties and assignments upon request.
Education, prior work experience, and specialized skills and knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aviation, Business, Management, Marketing, Public Administration or related field. Background in aviation and/or experience working in airport environment is preferred, but not required. Proven track record establishing, maintaining, and sustaining sales opportunities is strongly desired. Excellent oral and written communications skills including ability to demonstrate effective project management/organizational skills required.
