The communications coordinator serves in a leadership role at BOMA Georgia, and along with the director of communications and technology, is responsible for co-creating the comprehensive communications and marketing plan. The communications coordinator is also responsible for implementation of the plan, including design, website updates, e-mail newsletter production, electronic marketing, and implementation of other components. The position is also responsible for leading the association’s membership ambassador program, and coordinating membership recruitment and retention efforts. Additionally, the coordinator assists with professional development activities, networking events, and communication of the association’s government advocacy program.
The communications coordinator also serves as staff liaison to the Editorial Board, providing leadership to the committee and crafting the editorial contents of the association’s quarterly print magazine, Insight: The Commercial Real Estate Journal. Furthermore, communications coordinator serves as managing editor of the magazine, leading production of the magazine as well as the annual print membership directory.
The communications coordinator also leads development and production of the association’s video strategy related to association and foundation events, benefits, and news. Additionally, the communications coordinator leads the development and implementation of the association’s social media strategy and works with the organization’s database
Skills in design, writing, editing, social media, event photography, video and website development are important. Excellent writing and interpersonal communications skills are imperative, as is an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with the following software is important to success:
Microsoft Office Suite to include SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher.
Adobe Creative Cloud to include Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Dreamweaver, Spark and InDesign
