The primary objective of this position is membership recruitment, engagement and retention goals of new and existing Carriers, IMO’s, Banks and Broker Dealers for a national trade association. Additionally this position is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for attracting and retaining member sponsors to help fund two annual conferences, as well as an ongoing nationwide annuity awareness campaign. This role has significant interaction with members, prospects and staff.
Manage and implement the marketing and data strategy to recruit and retain membership. Includes managing relationships with internal and external service providers to ensure the highest level of service
Design overall membership and sponsorship frameworks to accomplish membership and sponsorship revenue expectations
Communicate membership benefits, programs and services to members and prospects resulting in increased recruitment and retention.
Manage data integrity program to ensure membership data is reviewed periodically to ensure accuracy: lists supplied by members are cross-referenced with organization’s data base for prospective members; and reports are generated to analyze and compare each year’s results.
Using consultative selling approach, work with prospective sponsors to gain a clear understanding of their needs, and develop customized sponsorship proposal packages to win their business and acquire new revenue for the Association.
Develop marketing strategy to expand Association membership into bank, broker dealer and other annuity distribution channels
Manage Association membership and sponsorship revenue data for use in internal analysis and external reporting.
Assist Senior Director of Operations in preparing forecasted revenue in membership and sponsorship.
Manage social media campaigns to enhance membership and prospect communication resulting in increased recruitment and retention
Desired Skills and Abilities:
5+ years of experience in association or nonprofit membership/sponsorship marketing, database management and budgeting
Energetic self-starter with strong presence, results oriented and the ability to work effectively in a virtual office environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work independently and efficiently under deadline
Knowledge of marketing principles to drive value and growth of NAFA’s membership and sponsorships
Proven track record of results in securing and maintaining membership and sponsorship agreements as well as growing revenue
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Proven project management skills
Telecommuting is allowed.
Additional Salary Information: Base plus incentive compensation.
