The Exhibit Sales and Services Coordinator will be primarily responsible for high levels of service for exhibitor inquiries regarding registration, payment, general booth and policy questions, contract processing, and more. The ESSC will also maintain an individual sales territory of current customers, and be expected to aggressively pursue new exhibit sales for several events of varying sizes throughout the year. Customer service, contract processing, exhibit sales, sponsorship sales and some collection and operational activity will all be required.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: To be successful in this position, you must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties as assigned to meet business needs and organizational objectives.
Lead the SPI sales team’s customer service efforts by supporting exhibitors with customer service inquiries, welcome letters, deadline reminders, forms collection, etc., ensuring excellent customer service, quality control, and consistency of exhibitor experience for SPI and regional events
As the sales lead on Solar Power Regional Events assigned, ensure the online exhibitor manual/resources are complete and easily accessible and assist exhibitors when needed with questions
Follow up on marketing efforts with personal outreach to all current and potential customers in the assigned territory/regional event
Maintain retention of exhibitors as well as build and secure new exhibitors
Manage SPI meeting room sales, logistics and outreach
Interface with SETS international sales partners (pavilion organizers) pre, during and post SPI on their booth selections, booth assignments, collections and all other duties associated with International Pavilion Agents
Manage the sales team portion of the on-site guide for SPI
Lead sponsorship sales on the assigned Solar Power Events including sales outreach, proposal, contracting and post show thank you follow ups
Assist with closing sponsorship sales for SPI including sales outreach, proposal, contracting and post show thank you follow ups
Work and align within the sponsorship sales budget including both revenue and expenses
Assist with the facilitation and implementation of various SPI show floor operations elements
Develop prospecting opportunities by researching and/or analyzing solar industry segments and competing/complimentary events.
Assist with onsite sales, on-floor show attractions and show floor events, as needed.
Sales Support and other Administrative functions, as needed
Education / Experience / Attributes:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills
Demonstrable customer oriented attitude
Strong oral and written communications skills
Attention to detail
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to take initiative and work independently while functioning within a small team environment
Experience in meetings & events industry, specifically with a large tradeshow is a plus
Experience with Map Your Show and Salesforce strongly preferred
Knowledge of Salesforce, information systems, including association databases, maintaining event websites, data collection and analysis, and/or formal report development preferred
This position reports directly to the Director of Sales and will work closely with colleagues on the sales, marketing, education, operations and accounting teams.
Work from the SETS Office in Alexandria, VA
Some travel, some non-traditional work hours and weekend work required
Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds and to physically participate in the movement, set-up, and storage of event related items/materials
