Position Title: Graphic Designer (Part-time, 25 hours, in-house)
Primary Duties: Conceptualize, design and create marketing, branding and event graphics for both print and online uses.
Supervised by: Strategic Communications Director
Position Description: DBIA’s in-house graphic designer is a key member of our small but creative Communications team responsible for bringing our non-profit association’s diverse types of communications alive. DBIA is all about collaboration, which is why this position is a staff position, not freelance or work-at-home. Our new graphic designer will work closely with all DBIA departments and can help us build a new look across the organization as we unveil our new website this spring. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Work simultaneously on multiple projects across a diverse workload
Create all visual aspects of marketing materials, websites and print media, including: large print publications such as Conference brochures and awards programs, mobile app graphics, online banners and infographics, educational material, presentations and advertisements
Collaborate effectively with DBIA department heads to create cohesive designs that reflect our strategic goals
Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas clearly
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Report to the Director of Strategic Communications
Qualified candidates will be
Creative, versatile, conceptual, original and not afraid to push the boundaries of “typical”
Artistic and analytical at the same time, creating visuals which convey DBIA’s message in a creative way
Mission-driven and collaborative, working with DBIA department heads to develop quality designs that support the mission of the organization
Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong technical, communication and organizational skills
Experienced with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
Able to work independently and with others with excellent organizational and time management skills
Dependable and flexible with a sense of humor
Minimum Education and Experience:
Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s preferred in relevant field and at least one year of graphic design experience. Requires strong visual style and thorough understanding of how typography, layout, color, images and interactivity impact design and user engagement.
Graphic design experience with a membership organization and/or non-profit is a plus.
