National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) seeks an experienced senior Development professional to supervise a nationwide team of eight fundraising professionals reporting directly to this position: six (6) Regional Development Directors (RDDs), one Associate Director, Donor Relations (who supervises two stewardship coordinators) and one Associate Director, Trustees for the Parks (mid-level giving program).
As a member of the department’s management team, s/he will work closely with two other senior development professionals (Sr. Director of Development Operations and Sr. Managing Director of Development) and the Vice President of Development to ensure the effective management of the department and fundraising efforts including the Centennial fundraising campaign beginning April 2018.
Primary focus will be to manage the growth of the Major Gifts program and work with the RDDs to grow portfolios to at least $1M or more in revenue by increasing support at the $10,000+ level with a focus on six- and seven- figure prospects. The candidate should have prior experience in and a keen understanding of the following to effectively support and counsel direct reports: developing prospect strategies, soliciting 5-, 6- and 7-figure gifts, working with high-net worth individuals and board members and success identifying, engaging, and soliciting new prospects.
