The Digital Content Associate provides critical support to help oversee the design, development and maintenance of SchoolNutrition.org to further enhance SNA’s online presence, brand and member/user experience. This position has extensive day-to-day responsibilities of editing, producing and distributing SNA’s various digital communications, including newsletters, e-blasts, targeted campaigns and conference dailies. Provides support to implement Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices and to produce metric reporting and analysis of the website/digital communications performance.
The main focus of the Digital Content Associate’s roles and responsibilities is to support the execution of comprehensive content and data reporting for the Association’s online presence and digital communications.
Works closely with the Sr. Manager, Digital Content and Web Specialist to update the Association’s website via Ekton to ensure fresh and accurate content.
Assists in producing accurate, insightful and regular reporting of web analytics and data.
Provides a regular review of all standing content on the website and touches base regularly with content owners to encourage them to provide updated information and retire outdated content, as necessary. Guides and assists staff in content development to disseminate pertinent child nutrition information and/or to promote SNA programs and products.
Writes, edits and reviews content that reflects key messaging for meetings, promotions and general Association communications.
Create compelling content in various forms including but not limited to news stories.
Works closely with the Sr. Manager of Digital Content and Web Specialist in prioritizing web development projects and implementation of larger content projects.
Provides support on the development of custom landing areas for meeting and event promotion.
Monitors SNA external and internal communication vehicles for material to be posted online.
Scans relevant industry websites and publications for content leads and ideas.
Ensures editorial and stylistic consistency in web content and materials.
Assists in coordinating web advertising.
Provides support in reporting of web analytics and data.
Stays abreast of technology and digital content-usage trends and recommends improvements.
Digital Communications Support:
Works closely with the Sr. Manager, Digital Content and Web Specialist on the production, editing and distribution of the Association’s various digital communications.
Assists with the editing, production, distribution and promotion of current e-newsletters (Tuesday Morning, Industry Insider, SNA SmartBrief, Foundation Focus, SNAC Bites) and future e-newsletters.
Works closely with the Sr. Manager, Digital Content to produce accurate, insightful and regular reporting of e-communication stats and data.
Provides production support on conference email campaigns and dailies.
Oversees subscription management process for newsletters.
Assists in the reporting of e-communication stats and data.
Provides support to ensure accurate advertiser information is included in newsletters, e-blasts and dailies.
Actively participates in regular Communications & Marketing team meetings and participates as appropriate in various initiatives.
Collaborates with the Marketing team on social media campaigns and posts, providing support as necessary.
Intranet Management & Support:
Provides main oversight of EDNA, the Association’s Intranet.
Works with IT and HR on regular changes to EDNA, including adding new staff hires and regular updates to Who’s Who and HQ Staff Resources.
Keeps information current on Daily Dish and Reminder sections.
Assists SNA staff with creating digital content and communications and works with them to ensure that information posted meet their communications goals.
Keeps SNA staff abreast of digital enhancements and developments.
Responds to web-related member inquiries or forwards to appropriate staff member for timely handling.
Responds to email-related member inquiries or forwards to appropriate staff member for timely handling.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
Three years or more experience working in digital content, web communications, or related field.
Demonstrated work experience with Content Management Systems (Ektron preferred).
Experience with writing for and assisting with production of email marketing campaigns.
Has strong demonstrable computer literacy on most platforms (Microsoft Office).
Knowledge of analytic reporting, such as Google Analytics is required.
Some knowledge of SEO best practices is preferred.
Background working for/with nonprofit associations preferred.
Some knowledge of graphics editing tools (Photoshop, etc.) is a plus, but not essential.
Familiarity with HTML editing tools (Dreamweaver, Notepad++, etc.).
Excellent writing and editing skills, with experience writing for websites preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Demonstrated workload organization skills.
Interest in school nutrition and/or nonprofits preferred.
