Washington, DC based association management firm seeks highly motivated association professional to lead projects, committees and working groups. Position will work as integral part of the management team, working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Friendly and flexible office environment. Facilitates committee/work group calls (develop agenda, minutes, project task list) with minimal oversight
Understands database systems (experience with iMIS a plus)
Plans, coordinates and implements client’s participation as an exhibitor at five to six industry trade shows per year including budget, event staffing, on-site execution and overall event plan and follow-up
Manages client marketing plans and initiatives with little supervision
Prepare annual marketing pan for Board review and approval
Manages client Social Media vendor and content
Develops and maintain clients’ communications and marketing strategies; point of contact for all client marketing initiatives
Helps develop strategies to manage client growth
Demonstrates ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Develops, edits and reviews documents and reports
Develops and maintains clients’ communications including coordination, implementation and distribution of eight newsletters a year
Recommends and implements changes to new or existing standardized processes and procedures
Pro-actively bring issues, concerns and solutions to management
Demonstrates pro-active problem solving
Has ability to work independently with minimal management oversight as needed
A minimum of three years’ experience in association/non-profit management and marketing; including meeting and event management, working with board of directors, committees and workgroups
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Comfortable in a fast paced environment and able to manage multiple projects
Exceptional problem solving capabilities and resourceful under pressure
Ability to make decisions on behalf of a client
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
Experience managing and implementing all aspects of a marketing program
Experience writing and designing marketing materials
Outstanding customer service
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
