The Program Director of PHCC's Union Affiliated Contractors (UAC) is responsible for tracking and responding to the special needs, challenges and opportunities related to signatory contractors. This role is primarily responsible for fostering relationships with key representatives of the United Association (UA) and UA local business managers and supporting the development of programs and resources for PHCC’s signatory contractor members.
Works with UAC Trustees, volunteer leaders and staff to implement strategies that accomplish the goals and objectives outlined in UAC's strategic plan.
Facilitates communication and relationship-development between the UAC and PHCC’s union shop and duel-shop affiliated members, and PHCC's union-affiliated chapters.
Maintains the partnership with the United Association (UA) and fosters relationships with the UA’s national representatives and local business managers.
Identifies, prioritizes and oversees UAC member services and benefits, e.g. facilitation of a service & repair group for signatory contractors.
Recommends and implements strategies to recruit and retain UAC contractor and trade associate members (local business managers), and non-affiliated union groups.
Consults with UAC Trustees, committees and staff on educational content for programs and events.
Prepares and manages budgets in consultation with staff and volunteer leaders.
Coordinates and executes meetings and events for UAC members.
Facilitates all meetings for committees, Trustees and volunteer leaders.
Collaborates with Trustees, staff and other subject matter experts to develop, maintain and distribute content and information for newsletters and online channels, including websites, community forums and social media channels.
College degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years program management experience.
Industry experience a plus.
Background to include the signatory plumbing and HVAC contracting industry, experience working with the United Association and Local Union Business Managers, administration and budgeting, membership recruitment and retention and public speaking. Solid understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreements, Trust Funds, ERISA and related issues. Association management experience a plus.
