The National Society of Accountants (NSA) has an exciting opportunity for a highly-motivated and enthusiastic individual to manage the Member Services aspect of our growing organization. The selected candidate will oversee and lead the direction of membership recruitment and retention along with NSA’s exhibit booth strategy while effectively collaborating with volunteer leaders and staff members. The selected candidate will work closely with the Executive Vice President (EVP) on various projects that align with NSA’s Strategic Plan and increase and promote the value of NSA membership and the organization as a whole.
Main Focus of Responsibilities
Create and execute strategic member recruitment and retention strategies and tactics that support the member value proposition to key member segments and lead membership strategies that are in line with the NSA’s strategic plan and growth goals.
Collaborate with volunteer leaders and staff to create a value-based recruitment and retention life cycle plan, including effective membership materials to increase new members, membership renewals, and overall retention rates.
Work with staff to broaden affinity programs that bring direct and sustainable value to NSA’s membership.
Provide statistical data that show current and future membership trends on a weekly/monthly/annual basis, summarize data to provide recommendations and analysis for decision making.
Attend Member Exhibits, the Annual Convention, and other events to ensure the management and fulfillment of meetings are supporting the membership strategic goals and represent the member development goals of NSA.
Create and manage membership recruitment, retention, and member exhibit booth budgets.
The Ideal Candidate possesses:
A team attitude that thrives working in a small, congenial, fast-paced setting where everyone “pitches in” at all levels and expectations are high.
A Bachelors’ degree, preferably in marketing, communications, management or related field.
Hands-on experience with various AMS and the ability to track and report on membership statistics and industry trends.
A broad understanding of the association environment and effective membership practices.
The ability to quickly develop a fundamental understanding of the industry and our programs.
Superlative interpersonal skills, and is customer-focused, enjoys talking to people (as opposed to engaging over email), is a good listener, and is adept at building relationships with members, partners, staff, sponsors and other stakeholders.
The desire to work with volunteer leaders and travel to, and work at, association events and trade shows
A strong work-ethic and is comfortable working with minimal supervision.
