The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA), an Old Town Alexandria trade and non-profit association representing healthcare product suppliers, is seeking a well-organized professional with initiative to join its team. This position provides support to the membership team.
We’re looking for candidates that have previous membership or sales experience and really great customer service and follow-up. Some travel required (3-4 times per year).
Primary Job Duties:
Assist with securing new members for the association through telemarketing, email and follow-up with prospects.
Conduct membership presentations and articulate the member value proposition.
Manage HIDA’s six advisory councils to include drafting agendas, planning calls, meeting notes and recruiting new council members.
Communicate and report membership statistics, trends, and satisfaction to senior staff.
Coordinate member and prospect participation in education events and annual tradeshow.
Engage in social media campaigns and email marketing to promote member and prospect participation.
3 to 5 years of work experience in membership sales/retention or sales management.
University or college degree, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to build relationships by phone and in person, to senior-level executives. Excellent customer service skills.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, listening skills and time management.
Organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
Self-motivated with the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Proficiency in a variety of software and on line applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and iMIS.
Be able to travel several times per year.
