Development and Foundation, Health, Project Management/Program Development
The incumbent provides program management and conducts evaluations for the public education programs of the APA Foundation, related, but not limited to school-based mental health and mental health screening in the justice system. In addition, the incumbent works with the Executive Director and Development staff to develop and maintain external funding to sustain APA Foundations programmatic initiatives. S/he will develop and foster effective working relationships with important stakeholders involved in supporting and implementing APA Foundation programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with APAF Program Directors to develop, enhance, and implement public education programs.
Support the planning, organization, and management of the school certification process for the school-based mental health program
Support the planning, organization, and management of the delivery of school-based mental health program in various states
Support the planning, development, implementation of electronic screening platforms for APA Foundations jail screening tool. Manage the interaction with Software Developer for on-going maintenance of tool
Support other Foundation initiatives as needed
Work with Development team to write grant applications to procure funding for key APAF program evaluation initiatives (e.g., Typical or Troubled, APAF Jail Mental Health Screen, Right Direction, Center for Workplace Mental Health, etc.). Work with APA Division of Research staff to develop research and evaluation sections of grant applications.
Identify diverse and strategic opportunities for funding of APAF programs
Develop and write grant applications to identified funding sources
Foster and maintain strong, effective working relationships with important stakeholders involved in the development and implementation of the APAF programs and their evaluation efforts
Collaborate with internal partners to assist with program evaluation.
Work with Executive Director, to oversee the program evaluation efforts carried out by the APA Division of Research. Involving a knowledge and/or desire to gain knowledge on evaluation methodology, data collection and study implementation
Work with Executive Director to ensure identification and onboarding of program evaluation sites and maintaining these relationships
Work with APA Division of Research in writing and reporting study findings
Work with the Division of Researchs Program Evaluation Research Associates to understand the results of the evaluation findings and implications for the breadth, reach and effectiveness of Foundation programs
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in public health, psychology, public health, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years program management and evaluation experience.
Strong data management and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated success in writing grant applications and securing funding
Strong organizational skills
Ability to summarize program metrics in written and graphical form.
The ability to work with others as a team (teamwork).
Normal demands associated with an office environment.
Ability to work on computer for prolonged periods, communicate with individuals by telephone, e-mail and face to face.
Some travel may be required.
