A U.S. trade organization in the plastics industry is looking for a Social Media and Content Development Manager to develop, implement and manage social media and content development activities and projects for our organization. What You Will Do:
Help create and implement the organization’s social media and content strategy, including developing plans that leverage existing websites, social media channels and
Package information appropriately for social media channels, blogs and e-newsletters so it attracts attention, generates interest and is easily shared by key audiences.
Manage an editorial calendar that incorporates content across all of the organization’s digital communications channels.
Identify and write stories about people, places and innovations in the industry that can be shared across digital channels.
Implement digital communications and nurture email campaigns that help grow our database of subscribers.
Measure the effectiveness of your efforts through A/B testing, click-through-rates, website traffic and social media engagement.
Work with consultants to develop graphics, digital brochures, company and product factsheets, email campaigns, e-newsletters, presentations, podcasts, videos and other communications assets.
Ensure all digital content and campaigns are optimized for Search Engine Optimization
Attend, participate and manage event logistics for tradeshow exhibits, sponsorships and member events -- US-based travel is required (25% or less).
Provide team support through transcribing meeting notes, preparing project updates, maintaining project status in online systems, and assisting with member coordination.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Strong written and verbal communications skills. This position requires someone who can write well.
Three to five year’s work experience in marketing and or communications
Independent worker that is creative, resourceful, results-oriented and self-motivated.
Successful track record of previous experience in marketing, communications or digital media through previous jobs, internships and or volunteer activities, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in social and digital communication for an organization as evidenced by examples of online social media engagement, digital email campaigns, newsletters, blog posts and other communications.
Readiness to work in a traditional office environment and meet high standards of professionalism.
Demonstrated excellence in organizational skills with the ability to run multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Experience in working with Google Analytics.
Accountable with timely follow up and keen attention to detail.
The ability to commute to Washington, DC (office is Metro-accessible and parking is available on-site).
