The NRF Foundation is seeking a charismatic Manager with a passion for soliciting, identifying, securing, and cultivating donors to assist in developing a strategic plan for the Foundation’s fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven team player who is deeply motivated and has a proven track record in securing major gifts/sponsorships of $25k+.
Assist the Senior Director of Corporate Engagement on year-round fundraising efforts for the Foundation, including funding for student initiatives and the annual NRF Foundation Honors fundraising event
Assist in the development and implementation of a strategic fundraising plan to expand current fundraising activities and goals
Donor research, cultivation and stewardship (to include prospects within the retail and other industry sectors)
Develop correspondences and communications with donors, including outreach, solicitations, follow ups
Engage, cultivate and nurture donor relationships
Manage timelines for fundraising activities and assist in planning and execution for special fundraising events
Manage and maintain the Foundation’s donor database
Manage gift processing and reports: ensuring gifts are recorded properly within the database and donors are acknowledged appropriately
Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of donors to meet or exceed their expectations within organizational parameters
Expectation to staff high-level calls/meetings with key constituents, and assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for the President and Foundation Board
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or related field
3-5 years fundraising experience for a nationally recognized non-profit
Proven track record in securing major gifts and sponsorships of $25K+
Knowledge and experience in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and securing donors through various funding channels and industry sectors
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various constituents, including staff members, board members and donors
The ideal candidate must be able to work in a collaborative team environment as well as
autonomously to meet fundraising goals
Expertise in fundraising database and query building (i.e. Raiser’s Edge or equivalent platform)
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines and project goals
Strong written and verbal communications skills, with ability to communicate thoughtfully with donors
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Docs (or similar shared platforms), and with tech-savvy that allows training in additional software platforms and social media
Knowledge of special events planning and management
Some travel required
