We are looking for an Instructional Designer/Education Content Manager who will be responsible for managing the development (design and implementation) of educational content for the Society, working closely with members and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create the content, and delivering the content for in-person and online environments.
The successful candidate is efficient and comfortable being a member of a small, dynamic team.
Content Development (80%) – Work with SFPE’s Standing Committee on Professional Development to develop educational programs aligned with the profession’s identified core competencies, including a core curriculum for fire protection engineering, a new PE Exam Preparation course, and advanced engineering programs on specialized topics.
Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content
Manages and/or collaborates with subject matter experts in the design and delivery of education programs
Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs
Set instructional end goals and create content that matches them
Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design
Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
Up to 10% travel
