Candidates must have experience implementing federal, state or local stormwater requirements, a solid understanding of key aspects of the NPDES program including permit requirements for active construction sites, post-construction stormwater requirements imposed by municipalities, and EPA policies on TMDLs and nutrient trading. The ideal candidate would have a proven knowledge of federal rulemaking processes. Knowledge of state or local disaster-resilience or floodplain planning a plus.

Knowledge of other environmental statutes and regulations is a plus, as the candidate must be able to manage emerging issues, as assigned.  Candidates must be able to work independently, effectively manage multiple projects, and meet competing deadlines.

A minimum of three years of environmental policy experience in a federal, state or local regulatory agency, or an equivalent private sector position is required.  A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Environmental Law, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources, or comparable experience and education, is required.
