American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), a medical professional society headquartered in eastern Loudoun County, VA, is seeking a full-time Manuscript Editor for its monthly peer-reviewed journal and other publications. Primary duties for this position are copyediting and proofreading manuscripts to meet established publication schedules and quality standards.
The successful candidate will have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; 2–3 years’ experience in scientific editing; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and manuscript review software; working knowledge of copyright and permissions in journal publishing; familiarity with the AMA Manual of Style; attention to detail; and a record of effectively and productively managing multiple projects and deadlines. This position is in-house at the headquarters in Leesburg, VA; however, candidates residing outside of the Washington, DC, metro area who wish to work remotely from a home office will also be considered. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree or advanced editing certification desired.

The American Roentgen Ray Society, founded in 1900, is the first and oldest radiology society in the United States. The society has been a forum for progress in radiology since shortly after the discovery of the X-ray and is dedicated to the goal of the advancement of medicine through the science of radiology and its allied sciences.
