Kellen is searching for an association leader focused on delivering results and creating an efficient and positive staff team culture for the Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC). You will serve as the Administrative Director and Kellen’s chief of staff for FLC, a Kellen client organization.
The FLC is focused on supporting the commercialization of technology developed in federal laboratories. The organization is comprised of over 300 federal laboratories, each of which is represented by Agency Representatives (ARs) and Laboratory Representatives (LRs). The FLC community is a network of Consortium Members, Consortium Participants, academic institutions as well as industry. The FLC community has access to technology transfer tools, services, and connections for facilitating the commercialization process.
What will you do?
Report to and support the FLC CEO and Executive Board, and be responsible to and supported by Kellen senior management.
You will be responsible for management of Kellen staff and deliverables under the agreement, ensuring excellence in all aspects of our work.
You will provide support for project management, administration, operating plan implementation and progress monitoring, and governance/committee management.
You will connect and ensure coordinated service delivery by a multidisciplinary team of staff specialists in administration, education, meetings, information services, communications and accounting in accordance with government reporting and fiscal guidelines.
Governance and Project Management
With the association CEO, implement programs as set forth in the management contract. Manage projects and deploy staff resources for maximum efficiency.
Communicate staff and program status to CEO and to staff.
Serve as the staff liaison for select committees.
Promote Kellen management best practices.
Budget planning and analysis. With CEO, ensure compliance with federal contract and reporting requirements.
Operating and business plan development.
Ensure the collection, analysis, and application of data and analytics to inform decision-making.
Develop and review business plans and ROI for association programs.
Management of a multidisciplinary client team, ensure implementation of scope of work, coordination with Kellen specialists in other departments for service delivery. Ensure staff resources and deliverables are focused on client objectives.
Manage team to results through strong performance management, goal setting, coaching. Promote the growth and development of individuals through empowering, advocating and differentiated support.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 3 years’ association management experience in a senior position.
Demonstrated experience as a leader of group projects and management of employees.
Experience with Federal government contracts
Successful candidates will have a track record of leadership at an organization, strong management skills and impeccable organizational and communication abilities up and down the line.
Experience with associations.
