Chapter Relations, Customer Service and Support, Membership
Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Membership & Data Management, the Collegiate Coordinator is responsible for both maintaining and increasing SWE’s collegiate membership of nearly 20,000 individuals. This position will work directly with collegiate student leaders to maintain the network of 300 SWE Collegiate Sections, assist with collegiate section start-up and collegiate affiliate start-up, and promote SWE’s primary collegiate membership type (Collegiate-to-Career or C2C). The ideal candidate will have experience working with AMS systems, managing and overseeing data, and has the capacity to oversee the data of our individuals for our pre-college to college member types. This position should be able to handle multiple projects while effectively working with others including members, non-members, corporate partners, and other organizations to assist SWE in meeting its goals.
Core Responsibilities 1. Conduct targeted outreach to collegiate sections to help promote SWE membership options to new and incoming students Schedule and coordinate programs logistics for attendees and speakers. 2. Coordinate in-person events at 3-5 collegiate college locations to promote SWE membership, networking, and research in collaboration with SWE’s Senior Manager of Research. 4. Maintain a portfolio of one-on-one relationships with all collegiate leaders of SWE’s network of 300 collegiate sections. 5. Coordinate the start-up process of collegiate and affiliate (US) start-ups and the affiliate (US) renewal process. 6. As needed during SWE’s Annual Conference, help coordinate collegiate programs on-site. 7. Provide content for quarterly for social media, website content, and other media. 8. Be proficient in general membership related processing tasks to help support collegiate engagement. 9. Regularly integrate the C2C membership option throughout communications around collegiate programs & learning projects. 10. Assist with managing collegiate-based help-desk tickets. 11. Assist with pre-college and college registration duties at and prior to Annual Conference. 12. Handle special projects as assigned.
SWE Staff & Member Engagement Responsibilities 1. Effectively engage SWE’s membership and provide general support to volunteer committees. 2. Management of alliances related to members 3. Collaborate with SWE’s members and staff to support SWE programming, products, and events. 4. Collaborate with marketing on messaging, outreach, and branding. 5. Maintain regular communications with all key stakeholders. 6. Provide excellent customer service to SWE staff members, SWE members, non-members, and organizations.
Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s degree with preference given to education, social science, or related field. 2. Preferred: 2 years’ work experience in a nonprofit setting. 3. Basic understanding and adult learning principles. 4. Proficient in all MS Office Suite software. 5. Proficient (or ability to become proficient) in AMS (association management system) databases. 6. Technically savvy and open to learning new software applications and processes.
Required Skills 1. Applicant must have demonstrated the ability to successfully plan, organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. 2. Strong interpersonal skills with excellent internal and external customer service skills. 3. Outgoing personality who is an excellent verbal and written communicator. 4. Strong organizational skills are necessary to be successful in this position. 5. Ability to work across the organization with all levels of personnel as well as with members, nonmembers, and organizations. 6. Highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently and proactively on tasks and assignments. 7. Ability to work effectively on team projects and be self-motivated and experienced in making independent judgments within the context of established policies and procedures. 8. Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written. 9. Must be solution-oriented, resourceful, and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership. 10. Ability to travel up to 10% and participate on evening calls as needed.
