As Senior Director of Development, you will lead our development efforts, leveraging the strength of our board and thousands of supporters to raise $2.5M and expand our reach. Out of the 20 million veterans in the U.S., an estimated 30 percent of veteran families are in crisis and require critical assistance; more than 37,000 are homeless, approximately 20,000 require food assistance, and 20 die by suicide every day.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and supervising a Development Director and a Development Associate, you will create and oversee the execution of a strategy to diversify our funding streams, including individual and major gifts, corporate support and sponsorships, and foundation grants. You will drive growth in our individual giving programs by developing the strategy, messaging, and execution of direct mail and social media campaigns; stewarding current donors to secure future donations; and utilizing donor data to prioritize resources. You will support the board in their personal fundraising efforts and work with board members to leverage their networks into new connections and partnerships.
You will coach and mentor your team, setting the direction for the department and exploring the strengths of each individual to grow the capabilities of the entire team. With the support of your team, you will help us develop compelling messaging and multimedia collateral to engage new donors and steward existing donors.
Code of Support Foundation (COSF) is a national veteran support organization that provides comprehensive case coordination to service members, veterans, and families, regardless of discharge status, geographic location, or service era. We coordinate the resources of over 6,000 public and private organizations through our new cloud-based platform, PATRIOTlink®, and over the past six years we have provided direct one-to-one service to more than 3,500 clients through our Veteran Peer Navigators.
We’re entrepreneurial—when we find an unmet need, we leap into the breach and resolve it. Our case coordination program is considered a model for other organizations; in fact, two-thirds of our clients are referred from other organizations who could not serve the totality of their needs.
