Position Title: Database Administrator (Part-Time)
Reports To: Director, Membership
The Database Administrator is responsible for supporting the organization's functional, data and implementation needs of our Association Management System (AMS). ASPEN is in the process of implementing a new AMS, and experience with Impexium is preferred. The Administrator serves as the main point of contact for the AMS platform related discussions, functional operation, data extraction, system set up and training. The individual is responsible for coordinating all database projects. This position will require multi-tasking and an ability to think proactively. A high level of organization and attention to detail is a must.
This is a part-time position of twenty-five (25) hour per week.
Support the implementation of the new AMS (Impexium)
Help create and support integrations of current and future third-party systems with Impexium
Manage regularly scheduled Impexium upgrades, including the development of regressing testing plans
Create and maintain technical documentation, process documents, report specifications and end-user custom reports and queries while ensuring all documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
Troubleshoot problems working with database vendor and outside consultants
Maintain data integrity through data cleansing, identification of data trends, and monitoring of data entry trends.
Work collaboratively with staff and vendor to develop, maintain, and test new and enhanced features in the AMS
Keep abreast of developments and trends in general database/AMS management and propose improvements and advancements for the organization's information systems.
Import data from outside sources as needed (prospect lists, certification information, etc.)
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology or a related area of study preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of experience with an AMS, Impexium preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a membership organization (professional or trade)
Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and ability to be innovative
Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment with high expectations
Must possess ability to hold customer discussions in professional manner
Telework may be considered for individuals outside the Washington, DC metro area.
