We are seeking a MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER to join our team! You will be responsible for supporting APCO’s communications and marketing efforts associated with elevating the organization’s profile within emergency communications. The ideal candidate will create and execute strategies that promote the organization’s programs and services while developing and implementing communications plans and related promotional collateral.
Oversees, plans, coordinates, implements and tracks strategic marketing campaigns
Conceives and/or designs marketing collateral for promotion of association’s products, services and events
Prepares and executes direct mail, email and social media marketing campaigns
Evaluates the effectiveness of various marketing campaigns and identifies market segments that can/will drive the growth of the association
Serves as liaison for outside vendors
Serves as liaison with assigned committees
Coordinates with the editor on the production of the magazine, including art selection and editing
Assists with creating and editing various electronic newsletters
Manages webinars, which includes set up, marketing and moderating
Coordinates with external partner organizations to implement trade agreements and oversees the shipping of marketing collateral and the APCO booth in accordance to the trade agreements
Establish and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with other staff and leadership
Support and advance the vision and strategic goals of the association
Work well under pressure, to meet deadlines while making sound decisions, and able to accommodate shifting priorities
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or another related field
Three to five years’ work related experience in communication, marketing or another related field
Previous work in an association environment preferred
Outstanding oral, written and presentation skills
Proficient with editing and AP style
Ability to develop strategic communication plans
Creative in identifying and executing media opportunities as well as managing successful social media campaigns
Strong project management, collaborative, analytical and organizational skills
Proficient in office productivity software, email marketing services and social media platforms
Basic graphic design skills
