We are currently seeking a Communications Specialist to implement the communication plan and strategies for PRCI. With offices in Chantilly, VA, Houston, TX, and remote staff across the United States, we are looking for a highly motivated candidate to continue to advance our team to the next level for our global membership.
Essential Job Functions
Work with the Director, Brand & Member Engagement to implement the corporate communications plan; evaluate opportunities and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Develop, or assist in the development of, and distribute corporate communications pieces (i.e. press releases, articles, newsletters, emails, presentations) and ensure consistency of branding and messaging.
Coordinate the development of value creation stories/snapshots and promotion of technical content, research results, and activities in a consumable way.
Coordinate media outreach and monitor company brand presence in the industry.
Populate and maintain an editorial calendar.
Promote and assist in the production of webinars in coordination with the Program Coordinator.
Assist in the organization and marketing of Research Compendium.
Develop and manage social media strategy.
Update website and social media platforms with compelling and dynamic content.
Coordinate training for key PRCI leaders (members and staff) to serve as spokesperson for the organization.
Develop and maintain a metrics dashboard to measure the success and uptake of communications efforts.
Assist in event marketing and execution.
 Fully remote in a location other than the two office locations of PRCI will depend on candidate strengths in skills and competencies for the position.
Five years of communications or public relations experience, preferably in the energy or oil & gas industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or relevant field.
Strong technical writing skills with the ability to translate technical content into readable and consumable communication. PLEASE SUBMIT THREE TO FIVE WRITING SAMPLES WITH YOUR RESUME.
Technology savvy with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word), Teams and PowerPoint.
Experience in graphic design, web design, and content production.
Experience with social media and marketing platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Mail Chimp).
8 years of Communications experience in a non-profit environment.
5 years of trade association experience.
2 years of experience in the energy industry (specifically in the pipeline sector).
PRSA Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), AMA Professional Certified Marketer (PCM), or similar accreditation.
Experience working with globally located and virtually connected staff.
Strong knowledge of the technical nature of organization membership, including research, engineering, and technical level staff.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with varying degrees of importance and sensitivity.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key points, including development and refinement of presentations to all levels of staff.
Must be detailed-oriented, highly organized and proficient in time management.
Must be self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Employee must be able to travel 10% of the time.
Position intended for a standard 40-hour workweek, 8 hours per day.

Electronic, telephonic, and in-person contact with others to include Leadership team, Administrative team, Research Execution/Program Managers, Executive level and technical members, staff, contractors and vendors.
