Job Summary Under the direction of the SMA Program Chair, this person will be responsible for assisting with the organization and facilitation of administrative details associated with the SMA conference program. He/she will perform a variety of administrative, coordinating and logistical services in support of the Program Chair. Primary Duties or Responsibilities The Conference Administrative Assistant is the primary contact to provide support services to the Program Chair. By assisting with administrative tasks, the Program Chair can focus on the overall goal of developing and conducting the SMA Annual Meeting, a world-class scholarly conference on the topic of management. Expected weekly time commitment varies based on the time of year. Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

Education/Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. The target audience for the SMA conference is individuals who have earned a doctoral degree or are pursuing one. Therefore, a candidate who has completed some graduate level studies or who holds a Master’s degree would be a plus. Individuals who have served in officer positions are ineligible; those who have served in other elected or appointed positions for SMA must not have occupied those positions for at least 12 months prior to applying for this position. Experience Working with professional associations or societies. Conference planning and execution. Knowledge/Skills Strong computer and communications skills are necessary. Experience with submission is software highly desirable.
