Under the direction of the Director, Digital Learning & Content Management, the Manager, Program Development, will proactively explore, evaluate, and craft well-developed, strategic recommendations/plans related to new learning opportunities/initiatives/programs positioned to enhance and amplify the Society’s learning portfolio, and expand non-dues revenue. While the incumbent is responsible for the oversight, development, execution, and/or evaluation of new learning opportunities/initiatives/programs, this is a highly collaborative position, working across all departments and functional areas to take a broad view of the program in development. This position works closely with relevant committees or work groups for their subject matter expertise, program guidance and support, and to develop grant proposals under the Continuing Medical Education Services (CMES) brand. This interdisciplinary position requires a strong business acumen, with an entrepreneurial mindset, as well as the ability to incorporate instructional design for adult learning in the creation of the programs or activities.
What you’ll bring to the job:
Experience developing continuing medical education programs strongly preferred. This position is highly visible within the organization; therefore, excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, project management and organizational skills required. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and pay close attention to detail is also required.
BA/BA degree and 5 – 7 years’ association experience preferred. Experience with developing online learning programs, project management, and committee/faculty liaison duties strongly preferred. Experience in database management, spreadsheets, and word processing required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and professional presence.
Experience and/or passion with applying adult learning principles and instructional design techniques to achieve desired outcomes for educational activities.
Excellent interpersonal skills required to work with a diverse group of stakeholders (staff, committee members, learners, collaborators, etc.).
Be highly motivated, results-oriented, and able to prioritize team efforts to use limited resources efficiently.
Proactively recognize the contributions of all team members, both internal and external, in dealings with members and collaborators.
Appropriate technical skills required for proficiency in the use of computers (Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, database management, etc.) and ability to learn new technology as required.
Ability to work in fast paced collaborative environment.
Interpersonal awareness skills, including appropriate choice of words, tone of voice, expressions, and other nonverbal behavior.
Strong oral communication skills necessary to run large and complex committee proceedings.
Familiarity with adult education principles and knowledge of ACCME and AMA requirements necessary for providing CME.

What you’ll own:
Serves as program lead on all funded educational initiatives, both virtual and in-person, to successful outcomes using exceptional communication skills, anticipating and mitigating risks, troubleshooting, and solving issues.
In collaboration with the Director of Digital Learning and Content Management, designs, implements, and oversees the execution of programs. This includes overseeing the program’s initial ideation, budget, financial forecasts, recruitment, clinical reviews, and metric analysis.
Facilitates speaker management to ensure timelines and content deliveries are met and collaborates with speakers to develop syllabi, pre-survey, and evaluation forms.
Collaborates, delegates, and leads the internal cross-departmental teams consisting of the following departments: Marketing, Digital, Membership, and Strategic Development, as well as external stakeholders such as Medical Education Companies, contractors, and consultants to facilitate the timely and successful completion of activities and deliverables.
Other Programming Tasks:
Administers audience response system questions and discussion boards for attendee engagement.
Maintains and updates content for program websites.
Collaborates with the marketing department to create production schedules and track deliverables of marketing materials and web content, including reviews of medical education partner specific pieces.
Partners with the graphics team to secure high-quality tables and figures for program marketing
Manages the processing of honoraria and travel reimbursements and collaborates with the logistics team on faculty accommodation.
Manages the reconciliation process with internal finance partners.
Collaborates with the development team to ensure all reporting and outcomes are accurately captured for delivery to sponsors, congruent with all contractual obligations.
Maintains information for Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) and Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Reporting.
Collaborates with various internal and external departments to support the life cycle of programs which include:
Coordinating with the marketing team to develop robust marketing plans to increase awareness of programs, publish accurate program information on website, and other marketing materials.
Liaising with finance and the strategic development teams to create, manage and reconcile customized comprehensive budgets for future and current programs. Providing financial management assistance by reviewing and producing budget program proposals, overseeing programs reconciliation and processing of honoraria and travel reimbursements payments through general ledger balancing and PN3 database.
Collaborating with the logistics team to strategize, manage, and execute all aspects of in-person and online program production. Managing external audiovisual contractors.
Coordinating with the Specialist, Digital Learning and Education Technology on set-up and delivery of activities through the learning management system.
Serve as a primary staff liaison to Special Programs Committee (SPC):
Identifies SPC members to serve as subject matter experts for content development.
Organizes and tracks the peer review process of CMES programs and resolution of comments in compliance with ACCME regulations.
Facilitates the invitation process for new members and contributes to managing the relationships with industry partners to ensure content remains objective
Leads and schedules meetings and develops agendas, action items, and progress reports.
