The right candidate for this position will join a growing, global, fast pasted organization. The Coordinator of Programs & Education will support GCCA's Member Inquiry Program, develop educational programming for GCCA events; as well as support committees/member volunteers.
Educational Programming at GCCA Events
Work with GCCA leadership and member committees to build a framework and focus for educational programming at all events
Identify, invite and prepare speakers and facilitators
Provide speakers with information and materials, orchestrate planning calls
Prepare session descriptions with the assistance of the marketing department
Prepare session introductions and instructions for GCCA staff room monitors
Serve as the on-site lead and contact for speakers at events
Regularly scheduled GCCA events to program include but are not limited to:
IARW-WFLO Convention (lead role)
CEBA Conference & Expo (lead role)
Cold Chain Policy Forum (co-lead role)
European Cold Chain Conference (supporting role)
Latin America Cold Chain Congress (supporting role)
Brazil Cold Chain Congress (supporting role)
South Africa Cold Chain Conference (supporting role)
New programs as assigned
Stay up-to-date in adult learning best practices and new, engaging programming formats to implement into association events.
Educational Programming at External Events
Manage the education sessions at external events where GCCA has strategic interest
Draft session descriptions; with the assistance of marketing
Coordinate speaker involvement, planning and related preparation communications and calls
Work with the GCCA staff lead onsite to ensure they are prepared
Manage speaker follow up and post event communications and activities
Develop post event/program attendee surveys. Leverage feedback and input for continuous improvement of programs.
Coordinate w. business development and training teams on sponsored sessions and related speaker management (in-person and virtual)
Collaborate w. Manager of Training and Development with Institutes and virtual learning platforms as needed
Member Inquiry Service Management
Facilitate the association’s “Ask an Expert” member inquiry service
Prepare monthly reports for staff and stakeholders on how the service is being utilized
Prepare annual reports for specific companies on how they have utilized the service
Continuously evaluate the success of and improve upon the inquiry service
Monitor and participate in the GCCA Online Community; one source of inquiry questions
Log member inquiries (that come from all avenues) in the membership database
Serve as Staff Liaison to the Crisis Management GO Team
Monitor, field, direct to staff/member SME’s and/or respond to member inquiries with various member online communities and information requests.
Support GCCA Committees, Councils, Project Teams and Task Forces
Support GCCA executive team in committee and counsel management through roster management, administrative communications and scheduling of meetings, calls, support deliverable execution and related tasks as assigned (Operations/Supply Chain Committee; Safety Committee; Association Programs Committee, CEBA Education Committee, and committees, select project subcommittees and tasks forces; etc. as needed)
Ensure accurate up-to-date database records for committees/councils, task forces, etc.
3 + years professional experience in an association, non-profit, meetings management or similar organization/role
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communications skills
Experience in learning program/speaker management
Experience supporting management of committee/counsel/board and related work streams
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines on time
Experience working with volunteers
Organized, driven and results-oriented
Strong interpersonal skills and high level of diplomacy
Ability to travel (international and domestic) as needed
CRM database management experience and familiarity
