The Membership & Chapter Relations Manager is an integral part of the ACMP team, driving overall membership and chapter growth and cultivating a valuable member and stakeholder experience within the framework of the association’s strategic objectives.

The Membership & Chapter Relations Manager is responsible for handling both day-to-day and strategic membership, chapter and volunteer activities. The Membership & Chapter Relations Manager will work with the Chief Operating Officer to manage the membership, chapters and volunteer departments, with the goal to advance and grow the association. This position will be responsible for the below activities:
Core Areas of Responsibility
Optimize the department for future growth by instilling best practices and standard processes and procedures.
Manage two Coordinators to nurture their skills and talents in advancement of yearly objectives.
Operational oversight and management to include project management, membership database administration, and analysis of surveys and reporting.
Serve as staff liaison to volunteer committees and task forces, as assigned. Guide groups in meeting charter goals.
Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the organization and development of the organization’s results-based management framework.
Lead the oversight of member benefits and coordination with other departments to ensure the value proposition for each stakeholder is clearly stated and understood throughout the organization. Recommend and implement changes to enhance the member experience.
Develop and implement plans to improve membership recruitment, onboarding, retention and engagement
Work with staff and leadership to identify opportunities for the development of new and improved member benefits.
Cultivate a sales mentality with the membership team to proactively reach out and recruit potential members.
Maintain accurate membership records through Association Management System (YM)
Host quarterly New Member Orientation webinars.
Keep abreast of, and test, trends and innovations and best practices in membership strategies and introduce creative ways to attract and engage global members from variety of industries, cultures and backgrounds.
Chapters & Communities: Maintain strong partnerships with ACMP Chapters and leadership by ensuring efficient operational support, maintaining service offerings, programs and leadership support. Develop interest and assist chapters in formation to affiliation.
Provide strategic oversite and support in identifying and launching new geographical communities and chapters with the goal to grow ACMP’s footprint globally.
Provide guidance and support to the Chapter Formation coaches to assist chapters in becoming affiliated
Develop and implement strategies to work with chapters to grow membership. Collaborate with staff to develop tools and resources useful for chapters.
Oversee chapter governance, including the development of monthly membership rebate reports, annual reports and renewal process for chapters
Nurture and build trust with Chapter Leaders
Develop and present relevant content for chapter leader training
Oversee coordinator who supports online geographical community engagement and growth. Collaborate with coordinator to recommend strategies to increase member use and engagement. Provide guidelines and best practices to chapter leaders to support online community engagement.
Cultivate and optimize relationships with committee and network leaders to bolster their efforts as volunteers in service to the membership.
Oversee Call for Volunteers and training to recruit and onboard volunteers.
Focus on improving the volunteer experience association-wide by ensuring volunteers are well-informed, trained, and appreciated in their roles.
Train staff on volunteer management best practices
Other miscellaneous tasks for the organization, as needed.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
5 – 10 years’ experience in membership and chapter departments in an association
Experience managing and cultivating online community engagement is a plus.
Proficiency with association management system(s) (Your Membership [YM]) and Microsoft Office applications preferred. Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
