The Lead for Standards for will be a key team player working in a matrix with PPTA staff and membership to oversee development, program maintenance and promotion of the quality standards programs of the Association: International Quality Plasma Program (IQPP) and Quality Standards, Excellence and Leadership (QSEAL) Standards. The manager will:
Oversee and coordinate industry standards development and program maintenance
Manage related standards committees and working groups
Collaborate with the Head of Global Plasma and colleagues, representing the industry in support of PPTA’s mission
Participate in advocacy activities on behalf of industry
Manage vendor relationships
Collaborate on development of public promotions related to standards, certification, and Source Plasma collection
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in biology or other life sciences, advanced degree a plus
Quality certification a plus
At least 3 years’ experience in standards management
Association staff experience a plus
Plasma protein industry experience (manufacturing, quality or regulatory) a plus
Combination of education and experience will be considered
Practical understanding standards development process
Understanding of quality assurance systems, a plus
Proven leadership and consensus development
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, including networking and collaboration in an international setting
The Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) represents the private sector manufacturers of plasma-derived and recombinant analog therapies, collectively known as plasma protein therapies and the collectors of source plasma used for fractionation. These therapies are used by small patient populations worldwide to treat a variety of rare diseases and serious medical conditions.
PPTA works globally to advocate for access to and affordability of therapies for patients, engage in constructive dialogue with regulatory agencies, and collaborate with patient advocacy organization. PPTA also administers standards and programs that help ensure the quality and safety of plasma collection and manufacturing and protect both donors and patients.
PPTA's mission is to drive broad and reliable access to high-quality plasma protein therapies, with a focus on the well-being of patients and plasma donors.
