The Director of Marketing and Communications provides overall leadership and direction for the ADHA’s strategic marketing, brand, content, digital, and communications strategies. This position reports directly to ADHA’s CEO. Specific responsibilities include brand identity development; member recruitment and retention strategy; market research; website audit and evolution oversight; and shaping of all content priorities including the journal, social media, and digital communications. This individual serves as an essential member of the six-person senior leadership team. Immediate priorities will include leading a successful identity redevelopment and website overhaul that aligns with ADHA’s upcoming 100th anniversary year; implementing a comprehensive integrated marketing and communications plan; building out a high-performing marketing and communications team, and establishing strong, mutually beneficial relationships with senior leadership and ADHA staff.
Along with a deep commitment to ADHA’s mission, the ideal candidate must bring seven to ten years of senior-level experience in digital marketing and communications. Familiarity with a national association/society comparable to ADHA would be an advantage. Additional qualifications include recent experience leading compelling content marketing strategies; a solid understanding of market segmentation for membership organizations; familiarity with video, search engine and voice optimization, and social media platforms; experience hiring and managing a high-performing team of staff; outstanding ability to think critically and innovatively, be proactive, and work effectively with senior-level leaders; and strong financial management, interpersonal communication, and CRM (preferably iMIS) skills. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is desired.
