The Board Administrator (BA) is responsible for ensuring each member of the IEEE Board of Directors and the IEEE Assembly has the information needed to be a knowledgeable and fully participating volunteer. The BA coordinates the Board and Assembly processes, which includes but is not limited to supporting meetings, writing and editing agenda submissions, collaborates with staff throughout the IEEE to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all documentation, creates and distributes meeting information and materials, and explains complex information in a clear and concise manner. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring communication tools (webpages, leadership portal, and intranet) reflect accurate and timely information. The position requires proximity to IEEE’s Piscataway, NJ offices. Once the pandemic subsides, the Board Administrator will be required to work frequently from this office.
The winning candidate will work in accordance with the IEEE Constitution, IEEE Bylaws, IEEE Policies, procedures, and precedents, and help advance the mission and objectives of IEEE - collaboratively, cooperatively, and comfortably - with all stakeholders. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Corporate Governance.
Primary skills required for this position are critical and analytical thinking, excellent writing and communication skills, and demonstrated experience prioritizing tasks in a highly complex and fast-paced environment. Confidentiality and discretion with restricted information are paramount.
The IEEE Board of Directors is the highest body within IEEE and is charged with governing IEEE. The Board includes 32 members. The IEEE Assembly is a representative body of IEEE members and includes 23 delegates.
