This position will support the Educational Programs team in their efforts to offer 60 online and in person programs annually, meet revenue goals to support CASE, engage 8000+ members and steward 700+ volunteers each year. Individually, the Manager, Educational Programs will be responsible for 10+ programs and events annually.
The core functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
· Serves as the project manager for 10+ assigned conferences/programs annually.
· Works in tandem with the volunteer conference chairs and committees in the development of each program’s content. Provides leadership in designing the program structure and identifying and creating value added components to programs.
· Manages the production and distribution of all conference materials and related learning materials from volunteers and appropriate CASE departments for each assigned conference.
· Submits appropriate copy for promotions in accordance with production timelines and assists the Marketing staff in identifying and defining essential marketing strategies for each conference.
· Manages speaker management, attendee communications, and conference evaluation systems and processes. Provides timely and meaningful program feedback to volunteers and CASE staff.
· Exhibits a high level of interpersonal skills and professionalism, serving as an ambassador for the organization and representing CASE Headquarters as you interact with 1,800+ members/participants annually.
· Excels in relationship management, identifies, recruits, supervises and stewards 100+ faculty and volunteers throughout the year, including CASE Trustees and Commissioners
· Identifies new products and markets to enhance programming opportunities with regards to audiences and content, demonstrating an entrepreneurial approach enabling CASE to remain competitive in the marketplace.
· As part of a global professional family of program managers, engages in group work to enhance CASE’s educational offerings around the world.
· Travels extensively throughout the U.S., as required (approximately 30%), to execute conference portfolio requiring significant time and some weekend travel.
Fiscal Management/Budget Responsibilities/Judicious Use of Resources
· Develops, manages and reconciles, the budget for each assigned conference (portfolio), generating revenues of approximately $1.3-$1.7 million per year.
· Demonstrates sound fiscal judgment in the utilization of all CASE resources.
· In keeping with the CASE Values Statement, ensures that CASE is well represented by exercising a high degree of professionalism, accuracy, and ethics, in all activities, services, and products.
· Demonstrates exceptional leadership/management, cooperatively and supportively, while working with all volunteers across all levels in the membership.
· Represents CASE in a respectable and professional manner as required with the Commissions, district leadership and other respective senior volunteer segments.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree required.
· Five (5) or more years of experience in volunteer management, conference content design, managing in-person and online events, and meetings logistics, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training required.
· A demonstrated interest in advancing education in the not-for-profit sector.
· A strong commitment to contributing to an organizational culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
· An understanding and interest in engaging with a broad range of cultures and countries.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Strong project management skills that provide the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Outstanding communications skills, verbal and written, that allow engagement with levels of all stakeholders within an organization.
· Experience executing online meetings and following best practices in digital learning.
· Strong problem-solving skills for interacting with various levels of constituencies, internally and externally from the organization.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to lead and participate on teams.
· Ability to work well and collaborate within a team as well as individually.
· Must have technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), as well as various software systems and products, including association management systems, online event platforms, speaker management systems and learning management systems.
· Aptitude for working with and managing significant budgets while being extremely attentive to the details of program management.
· Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
· A pro-active and can-do attitude, even when working under pressure and with all levels of staff.
