The Biophysical Society (BPS), an international scientific organization of over 7,000 research scientists who work in academia, industry, and government agencies around the world is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Meetings Coordinator.
The Meetings Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Meetings & Exhibits in coordinating and implementing all aspects of the Annual Meeting (6,000 attendees), global Thematic Meetings, and BPS Conferences throughout the year. Duties will include logistical planning, securing vendors, onsite management, maintaining the Annual Meeting website content and email campaigns, as well as maintenance and analysis of meeting data. The ideal candidate must have at least 1-4 years’ experience in meeting/event planning. Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential, as well as the ability to multi-task and troubleshoot problems. Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary. The ability to build relationships with internal associates and BPS members, as well as external meetings industry professionals, is a must.
Candidates must possess a strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and have experience working with databases. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Ability to travel to Society’s domestic and international meetings is required.
This is a full-time, exempt position with excellent benefits including medical and dental insurance, generous retirement contributions, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, as well as professional development opportunities. Currently staff have the option of working remotely but may be required to come into the office for meetings or to perform certain functions.
