Summary

This position’s role will be to focus on component and new member engagement groups operations. A member of the Member Engagement team that supports the implementation of efforts for organizational priorities and activities within the Member Engagement department. Supports unit efforts with a focus on departmental contributions to the member engagement strategy for the Association. Supports appointed and member volunteer groups and APTA leadership.  Prepares for approval compliance requirements and documents and seeks out opportunities for continuous quality improvement in department activities. Effective champion of the Association vision, mission, and brand.

Essential Functions

• Lead component and volunteer development efforts, to include: onboarding, alignment efforts, communications, engagement, and assessment.
• Implement new APTA networks and councils strategy to engage members primarily through online communities and virtual meetings.
• Manage annual volunteer orientation and annual component focus group meeting.
• Sustain communications with component executives and serve as liaison.

• Performs other duties as assigned to foster achievement of association priorities.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree, or commensurate experience
• 3+ years’ experience working in a membership organization
• Experience in an Association setting
• Excellent project management skills
• Database management skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information
• Strong interpersonal skills

Travel

Local and National – up to 10%
