TSA is currently seeking to add to its national staff a Member Services Manager who will collaborate with TSA stakeholders to recruit, retain, and engage members.
The Member Services Manager will:
Create and implement member recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies and
Identify membership needs and objectives at the local, state, and national level.
Cultivate high-valued relationships with chapters and state delegations.
Respond to membership-related inquiries and affiliation leads.
Monitor and assess membership affiliation status and trends and offer recommendations.
Coordinate membership-related initiatives, activities, and events.
Provide customer service to chapters and state delegations.
Communicate regularly with chapters and state delegations.
Develop and manage on-going mailings of branded and promotional materials.
Have knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
Produce member-related newsletters, bulletins, updates, etc. using internet-based email and communications software.
Understand membership databases, including membership and conference reports and applications.
Plan and implement member and chapter/state advisor virtual and/or in-person meetings.
Help acclimate new chapter and state advisors.
Make training available for chapter and state advisors.
Represent TSA as needed at events, meetings, and conferences.
Work with the marketing specialist to create promotional materials and resources.
Work with communication specialists to craft member-centered messaging.
Work with the state liaison specialist to engage school districts and state departments.
Work with the operations manager to administer the membership database.
Work with external consultants and vendors as necessary.
Assist as needed with special projects.
Support the organization’s goal of increasing TSA’s current affiliations by 500 chapters at the time of its 50th anniversary in 2028.
Requirements for the position include, but are not limited to, a bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ successful experience in membership recruitment and program management for a non-profit association. Professional references, writing samples, and recruitment examples will be requested.
Exceptional organization, written and verbal communication, time management, and interpersonal skills are necessary. The ideal candidate will be outgoing and detail-oriented, will value being a team member, and will be able to work independently. Strong technological skills are required. Two to three weeks of annual travel should be expected. The position reports to the national TSA executive director and has no supervisory responsibilities. The national TSA office is located in Reston, Virginia, where workspace will be provided for this hybrid full-time position.
