The Foundation Manager is primarily responsible for implementing the foundation’s short and long-term development plan fundraising among Destinations International’s membership. This includes implementing a growth strategy for the future, organizing outreach efforts, and managing relationships with the organization's new and existing donors.
The role requires close collaboration with other Association departments, including Finance on budget and accounting, Marketing to develop communications and engagement materials, Membership to coordinate the Foundation's outreach with its members' outreach activities, Partnership to support its efforts to increase partner support for the Foundation, and Board Governance in the operation of the Foundation's Board of Trustees and Development Committee.
Assisting in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events
Maintaining and updating donor databases, processing donations and acknowledging donors
Performing various administrative tasks such as scheduling, corresponding and record keeping
Drafting and distributing fundraising materials such as newsletters, brochures and social media content
Conducting research on potential donors, funding opportunities and industry trends
Assist in organizing and managing fundraising events, including logistics, guest lists and follow up activities
Assist grant writing and reporting process
Manage foundation committees through engagement, administrative support and goal achievement
Provide administrative support to Chief Advocacy Officer and Senior Vice President of Governance & Administration

Education and Experience
3+ years of fundraising experience required within a professional setting
Ideal experience includes nonprofit, CVB, association or travel/tourism
Higher education desired as related to role (including Associate, Bachelors and/or Masters)
Experience working with a variety of organizations and executive leaders desired
Experience with online auction and fundraising tool platform desired
Exposure to registration software, Learning Management System (LMS) software, Customer Relations Management (CRM) software, Association Management Software (AMS), survey tools, and basic database management preferred.
This role will require up to 25% (15-20 nights per year) travel time and may include international travel. Individuals must have a valid driver’s license, current passport and be able to travel via plane, train, or automobile.

Destinations International operates as a remote-first organization with a headquartered office space located in Washington, D.C. Collaboration of both Destinations International team members as well as destination and business members include virtual and in-person meetings.

Destinations International operates Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm based on the time zone where the employee resides in however organization communications time in EST. On occasion work or travel will be required outside of business hours including weekends and/or evenings.
