Description
ASHA’s Wellbeing Navigator promotes and enhances the overall health and wellbeing of staff by engaging and supporting employees, reducing health risks, and fostering healthy behaviors. This role provides personalized support, helping staff navigate healthcare needs, understand leave processes, and manage accommodations.
Responsibilities
Health and Wellbeing Engagement: Actively engage staff to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyle changes that reduce population health risks and improve individual wellbeing.
Care Navigation: Provide guidance to employees in identifying and accessing high-quality healthcare services, ensuring they receive appropriate care based on their specific needs.
Leave and Benefits Support: Assist employees in understanding and processing leave requests, disability claims, and related paperwork, ensuring a smooth and clear process for compensation during absences.
Workplace Accommodations: Facilitate employee requests for accommodation, ensuring necessary adjustments are made to support employees in performing their roles effectively and comfortably.
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) Support: Support the development and implementation of ERG initiatives that foster meaningful opportunities for learning and engagement across the organization.
Fitness and Wellness Program Coordination: Design and coordinate innovative on-site or virtual fitness and wellness initiatives that align with employee needs and interests, promoting physical health and engagement.
Qualifications
Knowledge Typically Acquired Through
3-5 years of experience in health and wellness, benefits administration, or employee support roles preferred.
Certification such as Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), certified wellness coach, or licensed nurse preferred.
BA/BS/MS in public health, nursing, or a related field.
Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA and compliance.
Basic understanding of health insurance processes and leave benefits administration.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide and influence employee decision-making in health and wellness matters with empathy and clarity.
Strong problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
