Position Summary
We’re looking for a superstar Association Administrator to join the Association of University Research Parks (AURP) team. Our ideal candidate thrives in a demanding environment that is continually and rapidly evolving, is able to juggle and prioritize numerous tasks, enjoys working with a small but mighty crew, is adaptable and willing to learn and embrace our global not-for- profit association focused within the higher education-entrepreneurial-innovation community.
This Administrator must be able to work under little supervision as well as with a collaborative team. From membership management, to office operations and communications, to assisting with our many in-person events, we require a lot from this individual who will serve as the face of AURP, as well as contributing to back-end operations.
This individual will be responsible for coordinating our membership programs from start to finish, with contributions from the Membership Committee, Board of Directors and co-workers; building our member network in addition to assisting in the overall operations of this membership-based international association. From contributing great content focused on improving AURP’s brand awareness to development of programs for smooth partner interactions and everything in between –we are looking for a Jack or Jill of all trades, and someone eager to grow your opportunities and career. Background
Since 1986, the Association of University Research Parks (AURP) is the professional association representing university-related research, science and technology parks. AURP’s membership is comprised of research parks and innovation districts from 200+ of the world’s top research universities, institutes, and communities. “Creating an environment that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship” is a top priority of our AURP members. This involves the design and creation of new research and laboratory space, new mixed-use communities, and new collaborative programs.
With more than 700 research, science and tech parks in varying stages of development worldwide (and even orbiting earth, i.e. International Space Station!), AURP collaborates with a variety of university, governmental, not-for-profit and private organizations interested in the development and operation of research-related technology projects and programs comprise the major portion of AURP's membership as well as the master planners, architects, developers, attorneys, and construction firms specializing in this highly-technical endeavor.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day activities and communications of the Association, including coordination of regular conference calls with AURP Committees, Board of Directors, Peer-to-Peer Networks, and potential partners; mailings and offsite storeroom management; develop reports and presentations.
- Maintain membership database including regular profile updates, and onboarding of new members; research demographics, market segmentation data, etc., and track the overall performance of all membership activities.
- Manage updates to automated invoicing for membership dues renewals, sponsorship, and event registration. Plus manage follow up of outstanding invoices with AURP team and Membership Committee.
- Website management; edit and create pages using a content management system.
- Prepare and design regular eblasts and/or newsletters, with contributions for the AURP team.
- Assist the Meetings Manager in the execution of marketing plans for all association events, including social media postings.
- Plan and manage webinars and podcasts.
- Assist with coordination of AURP events (International Conference, Spring Training, BioParks, Insights into Research Parks plus board meetings and other various special events, as needed).
